Many cultures around the world have traditional symbols believed to bring good luck, prosperity, and protection from negative energies. In Greek culture, signs of fortune are known as guri. The transition to the New Year is associated with customs believed to ensure good fortune, which often involve the practices and use of good luck charms. In addition, many jewelers create pieces at the beginning of each year that will bring good luck for the next twelve months. Their pieces are often inspired by culture, history, mythology, literature or astrology. These lucky charms are affordable and easily stackable. I don’t see this tradition elsewhere and Greek designers amaze me every time with their creativity and the beauty of their limited edition of novelties.
