I had the pleasure of being invited to Munich and visiting the Inhorgenta trade fair again. Today I tell this rewarding experience and full of beautiful jewelry, watches and precious stones. So how was Inhorgenta 2018?
INDIVIDUAL. INSPIRING. INNOVATIVE. This is the slogan with 3 magic words to highlight the unique combination of individuality, inspiration and innovation offered by Inhorgenta Munich. Every year for 4 days, it is the international meeting place for the jewelery, watch and precious stone industry. From February 16 to 19, 2018, some 27,000 trade visitors from more than 70 countries came to Munich to discover the trends of the year in the jewelry, watches and gems sector. INHORGENTA MUNICH again records a strong increase. 1026 exhibitors from 42 countries participated in the show. It is above all the quality of the exhibitors and the professionalism of the organizers who jumped at my eyes by browsing the six exhibition halls covering a total area of 65,000 square meters. This year INHORGENTA is strengthening its “Fine Jewelry” segment. 25 new exhibitors presented the best jewelry of the highest quality. This is an increase of 14 percent over the previous year. Fine Jewelery continues to be sought around the world and this trend is also reflected here. As in previous editions, fashion shows have once again been a highlight this year. Fourteen international models presented selected jewelry on the podium. Punctuated by trendy and coordinated music and chic outfits, the beautiful finery has been highlighted.
I discovered beautiful stones like spinels in mauve, red and pink tones, aquamarines of Santa Maria, Paraibas tourmalines or padparadscha sapphires. My attention was drawn to the gem discovered in 2015 by the famous gem researcher, Yianni Melas. It is a green blue chalcedony for which Melas proposed the name Aquaprase: Aqua for blue, Prase for green. It is a natural stone whose color is due to the presence of chromium, nickel or traces of iron, vanadium and copper.
When it comes to jewelry, I liked the work of Marion Knorr. Specialist wedding rings and engagement rings, she works thoses ultra classic products with delicacy, modernity and finesse to seduce today’s brides.
The Italian house Orsa Maggiore presented jewelry in titanium and gold with crystals and precious stones. A colorful and interesting mix for creations that catch the eye easily.
Those who know me a little, know that I love pearls and I’m always looking for jewelry that enhances them. Schoeffel has introduced a new couture collection with beautiful pearls.
I really liked the new lines of the Gellner house that attracted me by the innovation in the use of materials by sublimating the colored pearls. The German brand won the award in the Fashion Jewelery category. In the Gipsy Queen line for the first time the house has been using Milinium glass – an innovative material that is quite durable and offers a beautiful color palette. The pearl in the center is surrounded by diamonds, pink or black diamonds. The line “Stars in Heaven” offers rings that mix blackened steel, gold, pearl with diamonds for a rather bold and unconventional result.
The Greek jeweler Iosif presented the D’arc collection, inspired by French, heroine Jeanne D’arc. The armor it was worn at the time is transcribed in very intriguing textures creations and in shades of gold, blackened or silver.
My last crush goes to the Swiss brand ” CÅur de planète”. The designer Ramon Cortes is passionate about the meteorites since a very young age and he put this matter at the heart of his creations. The pieces of meteorites with unique and very rare texture, are sublimated by the red gold and giving space jewels with a great wow effect.
