An on-site survey conducted by HKTDC provided valuable insights into industry trends. Over 40% of respondents anticipated sales growth within the next one to two years, while more than 50% expected stability. The Middle East emerged as the most promising market for expansion, followed by India, Australia, and ASEAN countries. The top regions respondents aimed to enter or develop included Europe (24.9%), ASEAN (15.2%), North America (13.4%), the Middle East (11.4%), and Japan (7.9%). Technological advancements in artificial intelligence, big data, and social media are expected to play a transformative role in shaping the industry. Trendy fashion jewellery, precious jewellery, and demi-fine jewellery were identified as the categories with the highest growth potential. The most sought-after precious metals will be yellow gold, white gold, and pure gold, while diamonds remain the most in-demand gemstone, followed by rubies and emeralds.

This year introduced a new Gold Jewellery zone, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and innovative designs. The shows also embraced digital transformation, with e-commerce platforms Taobao and Tmall making their debut. These platforms provided exhibitors access to the Chinese market through live-streamed sales, generating over 6 million engagements and sales exceeding HK$50 million.

Exhibitors reported strong sales figures, often exceeding expectations due to increased international buyer participation. Sales growth ranged between 20-50%, with several major orders placed by buyers from Mainland China, the Middle East, and the United States, some reaching up to US$15 million. This underscores the global significance of the twin shows.

The twin shows featured 38 pavilions, with the Asia Jewellery Culture Design and Crafts Association Limited participating for the first time. Additionally, the Young Jewellery Designer Arena debuted at the International Jewellery Show, highlighting the creativity of emerging designers.

HKTDC remains committed to nurturing talent and elevating jewellery design standards. Collaborating with The Jewellers’ & Goldsmiths’ Association of Hong Kong Limited, the Hong Kong Jewellery & Jade Manufacturers Association, the Hong Kong Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association, and the Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, China Ltd., it organized the 7th International Jewellery Design Excellence (IJDE) Award and the 26th Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competition (HKJDC). Winning creations were showcased at Hall 1D and 1E Concourse throughout the event.

The exhibition featured diverse zones, each emphasizing a unique aspect of the jewellery industry. Highlights included the World of Glamour, celebrating Hong Kong’s fine jewellery craftsmanship, and the Hall of Extraordinary, showcasing exceptional one-of-a-kind pieces. The event also presented high-fashion branded collections, contemporary silver and stainless steel designs, vintage treasures, luxury watches, and cutting-edge jewellery tools and equipment. The Designer Galleria spotlighted emerging talents, adding a fresh perspective to the showcase.
