Vicenza, a city in northern Italy with a great jewelery tradition, hosts the VicenzaOro tradeshow twice a year. It is a prestigious and important event in Europe in the jewelery sector. Paola De Luca presented TRENDBOOK 2020+, the publication published by VICENZAORO’s independent research center-TRENDVISION Jewelery + Forecasting and powered by the Italian group Exhibition Group. This overview of the trends that will influence the jewellery industry, consumer attitudes and the international luxury market over the next 18 months was a highlight of this trade show.
“We are currently going through a period of considerable change and rule-breaking”
Paola De Luca
For the first time in Vicenzaoro, I was delighted to review the brands I already knew, the ones I only knew from Instagram and of course discovering all the new ones. So here’s what caught my attention for two days at the show.
Among the novelties of Roberto Coin I really liked the Princess Flower collection. The flower motif consists of a twisted wire filled with black or white diamond pave. The ring with a cabochon of iolite in the center caught my eye. Of course the new pieces of Roberto Coin’s bestiary are very well executed and realistic like this Dragon bracelet.
Bia Tambelli, young Brazilian desiner presented the new Trinty collection, inspired by the number 3. The creations as bracelets, rings or earrings in 18k gold with diamonds brown and white, rock crystal, citrine or imperial topaz with large volumes represent an elegant geometry. The triangle is put forward in the form of jewelry and in the cut of the stones.
Annamaria Cammilli is a jewelery brand based in Florence that offers modern design creations in 7 different colors of gold. The Flower collection offers a very successful reinterpretation of different flowers such as this Daisy pendant. Here the daisy is in white gold with satin finising and pave petals and with yellow diamonds in the center.
Tamara Comolli is a German brand that offers casual and timeless jewelry. I loved the Mikado collection with cabochon stones and especially this Flamenco Camel bracelet in pink gold with a beautiful mix of orange, beige and brown moonstones in acorn shaped.
Alessio Boschi presented his new pieces in The design Room. The unique creations, full of colors with hidden elements that surprise are the hallmarks of this talented Italian designer. I love his work around the pearl as in these bracelets inspired by architecture. This sublime brooch representing a little Rabbit and its carrot, is created around a beautiful baroque pearl.
Carlo Barberis is a brand of Italian jewelry based in Valenza since 1929. The elegant jewels with a mix of colors that only Italians know how to make, have already cautgh my attention.
The third generation of the Barberis family still loves color gemstones and continues the jewelry creations with true “Italian touch”.
My first time in Italy was precious about the jewelery discovers but also rich in meetings with the beautiful representation of the international press. Thanks again to the organizers( Italian Exhibition Group) for inviting me. VincenzaORO is a very nice experience and I warmly recommend visiting this tradeshow if you have the opportunity.
