For its 13th edition, PAD London was back to Berkeley Square with an exceptional range of designers and galleries. 68 international galleries, 11 new exhibitors, 14 countries from 4 continents (Europe, North America, Asia, Africa) were gathered in the heart of London's Mayfair district from September 30th to October 6th 2019.
Each edition of PAD London evolves to create new dialogues between modern art, historical and contemporary design, jewelery, the decorative arts of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and the early arts. The show invites us to discover the eclectic world of a selection of international merchants, which is equally appealing to collectors around the world as well as admirers and amateurs.
Among the exhibitors of this edition, there have been new international experts in jewelery such as Taffin, Fabio Salini, Boghossian or Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie, as well as The Beautiful Watch, a collector's watch specialist. They come to enrich the list of jewelery designers present on 9 jewelery stands.
Taffin has exhibited his unique creations in Europe for the first time. Based in New York and known for his distinctive designs and use of unusual materials, James de Givenchy presented a new series of creations composed of steel, oxidized silver, carved jade and typically vibrant ceramics
Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie, artist of Taiwanese origin (Paris, Hong Kong, Taipei, New York), exhibited imaginative and detailed creations, with shimmering colors, such as this butterfly brooch with natural turquoise sourced in Turkmenistan
Fabio Salini, present in London and Rome, has unveiled a new jewelry set using highly polished gold and titanium. He creates reflective surfaces and suggests voluminous shapes.
Hemmerle, an existing Munich family brand since 1893, has exhibited for the 4th time in PAD London new unique pieces. Unconventional materials, such as eighteenth century cameos and mosaic mosaics, metals such as titanium, aluminum, gold and bronze, as well as the presence of precious stones are the signature of the workshop.
Swiss Suzanne Syz returned to Pad London with new pieces featuring Paraiba tourmalines, the designer's favorite gems.
Boghossian, represented by 6 generations of jewelers and based in Geneva, Gstaad, London and Hong Kong, has designed a fine jewelry collection around an extraordinary journey in East and West.
Glenn Spiro, based at Mayfair in London, presented his latest creations. He uses interesting materials such as snail shell or rough stones that he mixes with precious stones for a stunning result.
France has been represent by 2 Parisian jewelry designers. Lorenz Baumer has come up with personalised titanium rings: center stone and titanium color at choise.
Walid Akkad has proposed for this edition unique creations with colorful gems and generous volumes.
Jewelry designers like Ioanna Souflia, Francesca Villa, Yael Sonia, Nour Fares, Ute Decker and John Moore displayed their pieces thanks to the galleries that represented them.
For the first time, visitors were able to admire luxury watches. The Beautiful Watch present in Paris, London and Monaco, presented a beautiful selection of vintage watches.
Finally, I was pleasantly surprised by this beautiful jewelery selection in the English capital. Pad London is well worth the trip for the quality of the exhibitors who often offer exceptional pieces, jewels that make you dream and works of art of the moment to admire
